Aviation Security Officers

We are currently recruiting for Full Time & Part Time Aviation Security Officers to join our team.

The full time security officer will be contracted to 21 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.  

The part time security officer will be contracted to 21 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.


This is a customer facing role in which you will be required;

·         To carry out full and effective searches of baggage and airport supplies

·         To carry out full and effective searches of people

·         To carry out full and effective searches of vehicles

·         Undertake patrols of the airport terminal & grounds

·         To control access into restricted areas of the Airport

·         Check identification or travel documents for all passengers, staff and airport users requiring access to restricted areas

·         Deal with on-site security incidents with the team

·         Operate the x-ray equipment to screen all luggage for both the cabin and hold including other items being carried into restricted areas

·         Provide excellent customer service to all passengers travelling through the airport

·         Help with other departments at the airport if/when required

A full training programme will be provided to the successful candidates to ensure that they have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to carry out this vital role for the Airport.


Requirements of the Role;

  ·         You will need to be aged 18 or over

  ·         Must have a driving licence and own transport

  ·         A confident communicator with excellent communication skills (oral & written)

  ·         A team player with attention to detail

  ·         Excellent customer service experience is desirable

  ·         Second language is desirable

  ·         The successful candidate must be flexible to operational needs (delayed/diverted flights).

  ·         Be able to achieve the required standard/pass rate when attending all relevant training courses in line with the requirements of the Department for Transport (DfT) and the Company.

Role Purpose

• Perform a pre use equipment and vehicle check, report faults. 

• To follow the training requirements to ensure you are able to take full responsibility for your areas of work, and are fully conversant with the Safe Systems of Work. 

• Ensure you maintain a high standard following Uniform Wearing Instructions, also ensure PPE is worn and meets standard. 

• Assist with the journey of PRM customers at all times, ensuring SLA is met and customer service levels are high.

The Lounge is looking for an enthusiastic chef to join their catering / kitchen team to deliver fresh, home cooked food to our guests.

Duties

·         To prepare, cook and deliver food in accordance with the agreed menu and Lounge Operating Procedures.

·         Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing and cooking all varieties of foods.

·         Operate a variety of kitchen equipment.

·         To ensure the food offering is presented to a high standard.

·         Maintain stock levels, receive delivery of supplies, ensure stored correctly, rotate and maintain.

·         To assist with stock counts and complete the appropriate documentation.

·         To complete required stock checks including temperature checks as per the required schedule and complete the appropriate documentation.

Cleaning Staff

To support the future growth of the Airport, LBA is looking to recruit cleaning staff. We are looking for reliable and hard-working staff, with a professional attitude who will be courteous and welcoming to both passengers and staff at the Airport.

This role will be responsible for :-

·         Ensuring exceptional level of cleaning service is delivered across all areas of the Airport and to ensure all aspects of cleanliness exceed our customers’ expectations at all times.

·         Carrying out regular cleaning patrols of airport zones around the building both inside and outside of the terminal

·         Reporting any cleanliness and maintenance issues to the Cleaning Team Leader

·         Assisting departments with their reports of cleanliness issues and attend in an acceptable time to rectify the issue

·         Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points

·         Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops

·         Mopping floors with brushes with or dust control mops

·         Mopping floors with wet or damp mops

·         Vacuuming and suction cleaning carpeted areas

·         Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors

·         To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces

·         Replenishing consumable items

·         Cleaning washrooms, including urinals, toilets and sinks

·         Using chemical agents as directed by the Cleaning Team Leader in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, in line with COSHH

·         Undertaking wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arms extension from floor level

 

Previous experience in a cleaning role, and knowledge of H&S legislations / COSHH is preferable but not essential.

This role requires flexibility as you will be working 6am – 6pm on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Aviation Fire Fighters

To ensure Fire Operations remains effectively resourced, safe and compliant we are now seeking to appoint qualified Aviation Fire Fighters to join the team, who hold a valid certification of competence and ideally an LGV or HGV qualification.

The position requires you to work day and night shifts covering 24-hour operations, 365 days a year.  Fire Operations requires you to be fit in accordance with current medical standards for fire fighters at LBA, and undertake regular theoretical and practical training to validate competency and compliance.

Demonstrating initiative whilst embracing at times the arduous nature of the role, you will also undertake a wide range of general airfield duties.  Our program of continuous development will ensure that you are trained to the highest standard. Revenue Manager

To support the future growth of the airport, we are looking to recruit a Revenue Manager to join our Commercial team at Leeds Bradford® Airport, to manage the delivery of revenue for LBA’s in-house commercial products, notably Car Parks, Lounges, Fast Track and other ancillary areas.

In the role, you will:

·         Support the Manager, Commercial & Strategy in setting and delivering strategies, budgets and KPI’s across LBA’s in-house commercial products

·         Yield manage LBA’s in-house commercial products on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to deliver the revenue results required by the product owners

·         Monitor revenue/occupancy and undertake performance analysis on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to identify areas of focus/onward revenue progression

·         Provide detailed reporting to the product owners, identifying actionable trends and insights, which deliver demonstrable commercial gains

·         Identify new business opportunities and ways of working to continually improve LBA’s revenue performance

·         Continually monitor and review existing relationships, agreements and routes to market to ensure that LBA is maximising revenue at all times

·         Drive upgrades and add-on sales across the entire commercial function

·         Work across LBA’s booking engine to generate and continually improve tools to further understand and analyse the business

·         Work alongside the LBA marketing team to optimise the revenue opportunity in all communications

·         Manage the day to day operational relationships with LBA’s distribution partners such as Holiday Extras

·         Support the wider commercial team in the overarching objective to grow LBA’s total passenger number, increase aeronautical yields and increase non-aeronautical yields

Health & Safety Manager

To support the future growth of the airport, we are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to join our team. 

Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance, you will have direct involvement in managing, reviewing and driving the delivery of all aspects of Health and Safety (H&S) for LBA. 

This role will offer the opportunity to work in a hands on capacity, ensuring a safe workplace environment without risk to health, which complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory legislation.


The role operates as part of our Compliance team, operating across the whole airport and the main aspects of the role are :-

·         Support the Company to ensure we have appropriate safety management systems in place, which identify, mitigate and manage risks to our employees, customers and business partners, in accordance with legislation and best practice;

·         Assist in continuing to develop and maintain a culture in which individuals feel safety has a high value and that they are clear about responsibilities, safety aims and objectives within their areas and across the airport as a whole;

·         To coach and empower all staff and ensure they are informed, accept and deliver on their own responsibilities for H&S including co-ordination and delivery of H&S training;

·         Provide H&S advice, including safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments and to promote and improve H&S working behaviours;

·         Proactively identify hazards and allocate actions ensuring closure and prevent future occurrences;

·         Monitor H&S performance, inspections and audits and keep H&S records and produce reports which suggest improvements;

·         Carry out investigations in the event of an incident/accident gathering evidence and keeping records

·         Advising on a range of specialist areas e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise and occupational diseases;

·         Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all legislation.

The candidate will ideally possess :-

·         NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent);

·         Experience of a range of H&S issues along with a sound knowledge of the associated regulatory framework and how it can be influenced;

·         H&S experience in a complex organisation, working with a range of stakeholders;

·         Excellent interpersonal / communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.

The Aviation Academy

Based at Leeds Bradford Airport, The Aviation Academy offers a full range of specialist courses which will prepare you for a variety of careers in aviation including air cabin crew, passenger service agents, air traffic control staff, pilots and many more.
