Role Purpose

The Customer Service team are a hardworking, fast paced, dynamic group and are the ambassadors of LBA®. The team’s responsibility is to create excellent first impressions of all customer journeys and leave all our customers with 100% satisfaction.

The role specialises in transporting and moving people from all on site car parks, welcoming customers to the airport terminal, running car-parking services including the Meet and Greet service. We also deliver the Passenger with Reduced mobility (PRM) service.

Key responsibilities within the customer experience team

To deliver the operational activities of:

  • PRM service
  • Ambulift Driving and Operation
  • All Car Park Operation Duties including moving of customer vehicles
  • Landside Bussing (If you have a PSV Licence and valid CPC only, Training can be provided for the right candidate)
  • Airside Bussing
  • Control Centre operation
  • To project a positive and professional image of the operation to staff, customers & business partners alike.
  • Assist with the journey of PRM customers at all times, ensuring SLA is met and customer service levels are high. This could be greeting the customer, moving them through the terminal, or helping the customer on and off the aircraft.
  • To operate and monitor the Parking and PRM computer systems.
  • To deal with customers directly by answering queries and delivering excellent customer service.
  • To safely move customers vehicles and park them securely, and make sure they are back ready for collection in a timely manner.

Applicants should be flexible and available for shift work, across a 24 hour period, on a roster pattern to suit the needs of the business.

There is a multitude of varying roles within the daily operations. Training will be provided for all of the roles within the department. We have full time 42 hour a week and 21 hours part time vacancies.

IT Project Manager

Role Title:                  IT Project Manager   

 

Responsible to:         Head of Information Services

 

To support the IT Department, we are looking to recruit an IT Project Manager to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to manage and lead the IT Elements of the X25 programme within schedule and budget. This will include the management and guidance of the IT activities and wider IT team to support LBAs portfolio of change aligned to the 5-year strategy.

What we need from you:

The nature of the job demands that the jobholder has strong IT project management skills and the drive to deliver results.

Ideally, the jobholder will have relevant project management experience with a very promising record of accomplishment. Ideally, you will have experience within a growing and changing environment over a significant period.  You will be the prime contact for the IT element of work.

 

Operational:

 

  • ·       Must have a clear understanding of an End-to-End Project Lifecycle
  • Must have worked in a Prince2 environment or similar
  • Must have delivered projects and programmes in an IT environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successfully controlling and delivering several projects in a complex business.

Commercial Project Manager

Role Title:                  Commercial Project Manager

To support the PM Office, we are looking to recruit a Commercial Project Manager to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to central projects to support the Business Units in their journey to increase and grow the airport.  Primary purpose of this position is to plan and manage the delivery of projects in line with business objectives and ongoing operations.  This includes gathering business requirements, project planning, estimating, execution, implementation and management of contractors and 3rd party suppliers.

Engineering Project Manager

To support the Engineering team, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Project Manager to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in providing expertise to facilitate the extension and refurbishment of LBA. The Engineering PM will assist in delivering a range of complex and diverse airport infrastructure development projects from inception to completion, across the full range of disciplines in line with the airports capital development plan.

Additionally, the role works closely with and supports the Engineering department in respect of contractor control, working closely with external contractors and business partners

Aviation Security Officer

We are currently recruiting for 2023 both full time and part time Aviation Security Officers to join our team and have the following working options available from January 2023:

Permanent Full Time 40 hours - working a roster pattern of 3 days on 3 days off (consisting of early shifts starting from 0300 / 0400hrs and afternoon shifts starting anytime from 1100hrs - Starting salary £20,856

Permanent Part Time 21 hours - working a roster pattern of 3 days on 3 days off (consisting of early shifts starting from 0300 / 0400hrs and afternoon shifts starting anytime from 1200hrs - Starting salary £10,949

Main Responsibilities

This is a customer facing role in which you will be required:-

Temporary Kitchen Assistant

To support the Lounge team, we are looking to recruit a Temporary Kitchen Assistant to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in providing a first class service to our Lounge customer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Adhere to professional standards of food presentation, production and portion control.
  • Assist in the stock control of food. Monitor the food wastage.
  • Work in line with standard operating procedures including hourly, daily and weekly tasks which includes maintenance, cleanliness and compliance in the operation of the lounges.
  • Maintain stock levels, date and rotation and replenish food buffet service in the lounge.

 

Person Specification

Lounge Host


To support the Lounge team, we are looking to recruit Lounge Hosts to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in providing a first class service to our Lounge customers.

We currently have part time vacancies available of either 21 hours and 28 hours per week on either a 3 on 3 off or 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Salaries start at either £10,949 for 21 hours or £14,599 for 28 hours.

Main Responsibilities

To meet, greet and check all passengers into the Lounges

To work in line with standard operating procedures including hourly, daily and weekly tasks which includes maintenance, cleanliness and compliance in the operation of the lounges

To maintain stock levels, date and rotation and replenish food and beverage buffet service in the lounge.

To provide a food and drinks service in all lounges to customers

To prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the airport alcohol policy.

To provide assisted service to passengers during their stay including knowledge and assisting with allergens and dietry requirements. Perform ‘back of house’ duties when catering staff members are not present or are busy.

Person Specification

A team player with customer experience being the utmost focus

Computer literate on mainstream PC applications including Microsoft office

Able to work on own initiative

Willing to work on a flexible basis as the hours of operation for the Lounge are 04.30am – 8.30pm.

Quantity Surveyor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Title:                   Quantity Surveyor

Department:               Engineering

Responsible to:         Head of Engineering

 To support the Engineering team, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join Leeds Bradford Airport. The Quantity Surveyor will work on a range of complex and diverse airport infrastructure development projects from inception to completion, across the full range of disciplines in line with the airports capital development plan. The selected candidate will also be capable of pricing works and assisting the Project Manager where needed.

 

Additionally, the role works closely with and supports the Engineering department in respect of contractor control, working closely with external contractors and business partners.

Principal Accountabilities / Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead

Experience & expertise:

To support the Airside Operations team, we are looking to recruit an Airside Operations Unit manager to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in providing a safe and compliant airside environment.


Main Responsibilities


  • The day to day management of the airside operations unit team and airside environment.
  • Ensure all the airside operations unit responsibilities are delivered in line with the Safety Management System throughout the airport and all relevant regulatory bodies, managed through oversight of agreed KPI’s.

  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Safety Management System within the airside environment, including risk assessment and audit of own and third party areas, processes and equipment.  


  • Day to day management of the Airfield and Apron including the interaction of aircraft servicing operations and other activities.

AGL Engineer

Role Title:      AGL Engineer          

 

Reporting to: SAGLE (Senior Airfield Ground Lighting Engineer)           

 

Role Purpose:

 

The purpose of this role is to maintain, install, and repair AGL lighting systems and associated controls and power supply systems. The role also takes responsibility for all other airfield electrical supplies, including Air Traffic Control, Airport Fire Station, and Air Traffic Engineering sites and equipment.

This role will be working on a rotating shift pattern to provide 24/7 cover. You will also be required to participate in a call out rota, be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers, when necessary. Although the role is a technical role, it also involves the cleaning of airfield equipment (light fittings) & escorting visitors on site.

This role requires a high level of flexibility, and although you will be working as part of a team of four engineers, you will also be required to carry out loan working.  


Role Responsibilities & Main Duties:


  •  Maintain the airfield lighting system to CAP 168. As per documentation.
  •  Work on a live runway using radio telephony.
  •  Carry out scheduled maintenance and operational repairs as required to maintain serviceability   of the systems that     are operationally and business critical.
  •  Maintain and repair AGL operational generators, UPS’s and terminal stand by generators as   well as refueling.
  •  Carry out monthly MALMS runs to prove, and document compliance for AGL photometric   measurements.
  •  Assess the condition and performance of the airfield ground lighting installation with daily   lighting inspections.
  •  Approved person for AGL high voltage switching/isolation and filling out HV permits.
  •  Be computer literate and ensure all logs and documentation are up to date in readiness for a   CAA inspection.
  •  Installation of any small new AGL systems in house and manage/coordinate larger projects carried out by others.

We have an exciting vacancy in the Resource Planning & BI team at Leeds Bradford Airport as Data Science Apprentice.

Working within the Resource Planning & BI Team, you will be responsible for organising various data streams at LBA and producing meaningful analysis and insight using all available data.

You’ll be utilising mathematical models, metrics and large data sources within your role whilst helping to drive a large Business Intelligence initiative. Your role will be a driver of the Business Intelligence strategy at Leeds Bradford Airport, ensuring the data processes meet high standards in data management and presentation.

To assist in your Data Science journey, Leeds Bradford Airport will fully fund a Data Science Apprenticeship (Level 6) BSc Degree, helping you obtain key skills and experience relevant to your employment. Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship course, you will receive a full Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science degree.

The Aviation Academy 

Do you want a career in the aviation industry but don't have the necessary qualifications yet?

Based at Leeds Bradford Airport, The Aviation Academy offers a full range of specialist courses which will prepare you for a variety of careers in aviation including air cabin crew, passenger service agents, air traffic control staff, pilots and many more.

The Academy is part of the Centre for Travel and Tourism Studies at Craven College and has been offering aviation and business courses at LBA for the past 7 years.
