Whether you’re a seasoned skier/snowboarder or just mastering the plough, we have plenty of destinations guaranteed to put fresh powder under your boots. Save a long traverse for the slopes and instead take a look at our top ski adventures below.
First Try
Laid at the foot of Mont Blanc, L’Espace Diamant is perfect for mixed-ability groups and intermediate skiers/snowboarders. Many of the slopes lead right down into the valley, so beginners can avoid having to take the gondola down.
The charming resort of Dobogókő is the perfect place for beginners of all ages, as both slopes offer ideal practice areas.
Building Confidence
A huge ski resort, Whistler Backcomb is top of the list for many skiers. The resort is made of two mountains connected by gondola, and offers 8,171 acres of ski terrain. Over 55% of the terrain is intermediate, including the highest points of the mountains.
Connecting flights to Vancouver
Ideal for intermediate cruising, Schladming offers a variety of runs with a steady gradient, and improved access to the more challenging slopes. There's a good mixture of short runs and longer traverses.
Pro Powder Pusher
St. Anton is well known for it's challenging routes, recommended only for the more experienced due to it's steep terrain even on blue runs.
For experts, Les Arcs is the ideal place to explore steep ungroomed black runs (the resort calls them Natur' runs). Despite the odd mogul, the snow is generally in good condition. There are also a range of accessible off-piste open slopes.
Après Ski
Just as important as skiing or snowboarding itself, après ski is a highly popular post-ski activity celebrating a great day on the slopes with friends. Some resorts offer a chilled-out vibe, whilst others go all out with an atmosphere like no other. If you're looking for the perfect place to relax and enjoy your time off the slopes, we've rounded up our favourites below.
Open Air Après in Tignes
Due to the many villages in the area, Tignes offers a diverse range of après ski. The world-renowned nearby ski bar Folie Douce kicks off at 3pm with entertainment all afternoon and into the evening, including singers, DJs and live performances everyday. For something more laid back, the neighbouring resort of Val d’Isère is much more relaxed, oozing class, quality and style without compromising on good times!
Thriving Nightlife in Mayrhofen
The ultimate party atmosphere, bars surround the top station in the form of huts, and there are more waiting in the village. Host to some of the largest events in the ski industry, including Snowbombing, a week-long snow-sports music extravaganza held each spring (this coming season, 13-18th April 2020). Previous headlines include Liam Gallagher, Madness and The Prodigy.

A Culture-Kick in Banff
