Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

For the Financial Year Ended 31 March 2019 

This statement is made on behalf of Leeds Bradford Airport pursuant to section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement. 

Our Business

We are a regional airport with a passenger throughout of 4.1 million per annum. We are owned by AMP Capital and employ approximately 360 people year round, with this number increasing to c400 during the busier summer months, due to the seasonal nature of our business. 

Our Ethics 

As a socially responsible organisation, we adopt the highest professional standards and comply with all laws and regulatory standards applicable to our operation. We are committed to continuous review and improvement of standards, so as to maintain our reputation as a business that makes a positive social and economic contribution to the region. 

Our position on Modern Slavery 

We adopt a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and we are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking does not take place anywhere within our business or within the operations of any of our suppliers or business partners. 

Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy sets out our corporate responsibilities and the obligations placed upon those who work for us and with us, in terms of upholding our position. As part of this commitment towards the elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking, we have developed systems to ensure that our supply chain and those who work for us adhere to our policy. We have also taken steps to highlight the need for our employees to raise any concerns or suspicions they may have regarding modern slavery or unethical practices.  

Additionally, we are communicating our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy and expectations to our suppliers and business partners and will keep our supply chain arrangements under continuous review to ensure that our anti-slavery position is upheld. We also intend to keep our policy and arrangements under continuous review to ensure that these remain adequate and effective in enabling us to play our part in eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking.
